Let us use an Applicant of Economics to explain how the Unilag Post UTME Score grading works. However, the following grades in his WAEC result;
- Mathematics = B2
- English = A1
- Economics = B2
- Government = C5
- Accounting/Commerce = A1
Using the grade marks above, his UNILAG Olevel grades will be calculated in the way below;
3.6+4.0+3.6+2.4+4.0 = 17.6
Therefore, the candidate Olevel grade will be 17.6 for his WAEC
Now, the next stage is how the UNILAG JAMB score is calculated.
How UNILAG Calculates JAMB (UTME) Score
The University of Lagos assigned 50 % to all Applicants Unilag Jamb Score. So, candidates JAMB UTME scores result is 50% of the total aggregate score. Meaning, the higher you score in JAMB, the higher your chances of getting a good UNILAG POST UTME Aggregate score.
So, UNILAG divides all Applicants JAMB score by 8.
From our above example, if the candidate scored 247 in his JAMB UTME examination, his total score will be divided by 8.
247/8= 30.88 JAMB SCORE + 17.6 O’LEVEL GRADE SCORE = 48.48 Remaining the Candidate Post UTME Score To get the Total
UNILAG Post UTME Score
The Unlag Post UTME score represents 30% of the total UNILAG aggregate score. This is the part you cannot assume for now until after you have written the UNILAG Post-UTME examination.
The total mark here is 30%.
Note: Regardless of what the candidate score in the JAMB Exam, any candidate that score below 12% in the UNILAG Post UTME screening exam will be disqualified.
